AMD Athlon Duron Processor Overview

In the absence of acts and figures to support, whether the claim that 'it is a Leading Global Provider of Innovative Microprocessor and Graphics solutions' by AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) on its website is a question of debate. Ever since AMD based in Sunnyvale, California was founded in 1969, its core businesses have been to provide microprocessor and graphics and media solutions for the computer, communications, and consumer electronics industries.
Today with corporate locations at Austin, Texas; and Markham, Ontario, 16,500 employees spread across 80 locations and manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Europe and Asia, AMD's success seems to be driven by what it calls "customer-centric innovation," its guiding principle. The company claims that it has shipped more than 240 million PC processors worldwide. And that its processors undergo extensive testing to help ensure compatibility with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows NT, Windows 2000, as well as Linux and other PC operating systems and also conduct rigorous research, development, and validation to help ensure the continued integrity and performance of its products. This article is about the 'AMD Athlon Duron'.
On its site AMD has provided a utility as a service to customers and resellers to ensure a positive user experience with the AMD Athlon Duron processor. Due to the complex nature of the issues affecting reliable processor operation on a motherboard, AMD selects the most popular new motherboards to evaluate using an internally developed suite of BIOS, electrical, and software tests. According to them, this test suite has been developed to ensure compliance with motherboard design guidelines for the Athlon Duron processor. To ensure reliable operation, the processor should be used in conjunction with one of the recommended motherboards. The utility enables the user to select the processor from out of the 16 models of AMD Athlon Duron processor, the form factor – ATX, SFF etc, the vendor, and any other feature. The company also warns that any attempt to operate the AMD Athlon Duron processor without a suitable cooling solution will result in permanent damage to the processor and potentially other components within the system and that recommended memory for your Duron processor-based system may be specific to the type of motherboard you plan to use.
The AMD Athlon Duron processor operates at four different speeds which are: 1.3GHz, 1.2GHz, 1.1GHz and 1GHz. Its key features includes support for 3DNow!™ Professional technology and hardware data pre-fetch, which allows end users to have an enhanced multimedia experience and improved productivity. The AMD Duron processor is a derivative of the award-winning AMD Athlon™ processor, and includes sophisticated cache architecture with 192kB of total on-chip cache, a high speed 200MHz front-side bus and a superscalar floating point unit. It also includes 128kB of on-chip level one (L1) cache memory and 64kB of full-speed, on-chip level two (L2) cache memory. You can find more information on processors by Amd at http://www.amdathlonprocessors.com/
The AMD Duron processor is a derivative. Although the two processors are related, there are key differences in the CPUs and the platforms designed to support them. The AMD Athlon processor features more full-speed, on-chip cache memory. The AMD Duron processor was designed to consume less power than the AMD Athlon processor, thereby enabling lower cost systems. Additionally, Duron processor-based PCs are likely to employ lower cost memory and graphics solutions, including low cost DDR memory and Unified Memory Architecture (UMA) graphics. The AMD Duron processor supports both PC1600 and PC2100 DDR memory.
The Athlon Duron processor is compatible with the Windows XP Home and Professional operating systems.

Looking To Make Money Fast?

At some point or another in your life you have almost certainly thought about or wished that you had more money. Everyone is interested in making money fast. The good news is that with online marketing you can do just that. The Internet is revolutionizing the business industry. You can achieve in weeks to months what would have taken years in the offline world.
Entrepreneurship is growing at an astounding rate. Where will online marketing revenue go in the next 10 years? No one is exactly sure just where Internet revenues will take us, but conservative estimates are in the billions of dollars. For anyone looking to start their own business and make money fast, the online world is very appealing to the new entrepreneur.
Starting to offer products and services online allows for little to no overhead costs. For the average brick and mortar business owner "overhead costs" are a dirty word. The only way to maximize your profit potential is by minimizing overhead costs. Companies spend millions of dollars each year in an attempt to keep costs low and keep employees productive. With low start up costs online, these concerns are a thing of the past. The time it takes to turn a profit is cut in half, if not more.
So what do you need to know before you can start online? Patience. You can't expect to throw up a website and make millions of dollars the next day. It'll take a little bit of time to learn how to drive traffic to your site and establish clients. The old mom and pop shop method is becoming nearly impossible as it is so much faster to do it online. Profits can come in weeks rather that years.
The second thing to keep in mind is persistence. Online and offline marketing are two entirely different worlds. If you're already tech and Internet savvy, then your learning curve will be much less. If you lack technological experience, that's okay. Just don't let that stop you from attaining your goals. Just educate yourself one day at a time and you'll find that the results will come. All of the guides and tutorials that you will need are found online. There are also many people who are willing to come along side of you and mentor you in your new endeavor. This is often times the best education as they have done it themselves and have some do's and don'ts of the online world.
The last thing to keep in mind is consistency. Millionaires did not get to where they are by sitting idle. It's not that working online requires a lot of work, but it does require consistent work. First of all try to learn how to make a small amount of money in a short amount of time. All too often online marketers focus on trying to make thousands of dollars per day and wind up in scam opportunities. Once you learn to make a small profit, then do that same thing consistently time after time. That's where the rewards come from and build the basis for your successful business.
Have you decided that working online might be something for you, whether part time or full time? Then you need to decide on your business model. The possibilities of ways to make money online are endless. You'll need to start doing some research to see which type of business model will work the best for you.
The hugely popular business model that most people are probably already familiar with is the online auction market. You can make money quickly by selling random items on these online auction sites. Many successful online businesses have been launched this way. After you run out of items to sell, you can buy and sell items that you purchase online. You can often purchase a product that may be mislisted for a discount price and then list it correctly to make a profit. Disadvantages to this business model would be that you would have to spend time packaging, labeling, and shipping the items.
Becoming an information guru is another popular way to make money online. If you are an expert on a certain subject, you can create an E-book or a report and sell that online. It is fairly easy to create an E-book and once the ordering system is set up, you can just relax as the sales come on in. You don't have to worry about any shipping costs like with physical products, because there are none. However, you do need to be able to write something that would be useful to people.
Do you want the convenience of selling your own information product without having to create one of your own? Then selling other people's products might be just for you. You can buy and market informational products with the rights to resale. Everything is already written, so no writing for you, and there are once again no shipping costs involved.
This is just a small example of the thousands of ways to make money fast online. Opportunities abound on the Internet, and it just takes you finding your niche for your financial dreams to come true.

How To Start A Fire Without Matches

Summer is usually the time when your kids or teenagers start going on camping trips. This is the time when they can practice their independence and gain knowledge of the basic survival skills. One of the basic skills being taught for every camping activity is to learn how to start fire without matches. Of course, many people would be smart enough to take extra matches and fuel just to be sure that they can start cooking whenever, wherever. One can never be too sure whether having a match can always guarantee a nice lit bonfire beside the shore or a fire for cooking. So the best way to ensure the presence of fire is to learn how to start it even without matches. Generally, there are two ways to start a fire without a match. First, you have the stick method. The other method is known as the stone method. To know more about how to use these two methods of starting fire without a match, here are easy steps to follow:
1. Find a good location One of the main reasons some people find it difficult to start fire without a match is wrong location. What more can you expect in a place where there are the elements of nature? Water and the wind are two of the greatest enemies of fire so it is best to try in a place away from these elements.
2. Collect your materials Learning how to start a fire without a match is possible, but not without the other essentials such as dry leaves, twigs and dry wood.Collecting these things is the very first crucial step in learning the skill.
3. Choose your means As mentioned earlier, there are two methods of starting a fire without a match. Either way, you can readily start fire because both the stick and the stone methods use the same principle of friction.Briskly rubbing these two materials (either the sticks or the stones) will produce heat and after a series of rubbing motions, fire will be developed. With stones, you need to rub them near your twigs or dry leaves. It is important that when a spark is created, the leaves are readily available to catch the flame. It is easy to start a fire without a match. Just remember not to play with fire as this may cause serious accidents.

How To Burn Or Copy XBox 360 Games

You can burn and copy your XBox 360 games, but it takes a little doing. It's not as easy as plopping it in and hitting "start."There are 2 ways to copy games: you can copy games to your XBox hard drive, or you can use a PC. If you want to burn a copy of your games, you have to use a PC, and the process is a little more complicated. I'll probably say it again later, but you have to have a modded XBox to play copied games. The system is designed so that it won't play copied games, so if you plan on doing this, make sure your XBox has a mod chip first. Otherwise it won't work!Copying Games To Your XBox Hard DriveCopying games this way is pretty easy. You'll need one bit of software which is called DVD2XBOX. This is a totally legal piece of software that allows you to back up games, and you can get it for free online. Do a web search and you can find it. You might also want to make sure your XBox has plenty of hard drive space for the backed up games. If you plan to do this, I recommend upgrading your XBox hard drive first, so you have plenty of memory.Once you have DVD2XBOX on your XBox, it will show up on the dashboard under "applications." If you open this software, it will walk you through step by step on copying and saving the games. It's pretty user friendly, but if you are unsure, there are some easy-to-follow tutorials on the web.Copying Games To Your PC. This is a lot more complex, but it's the only way to burn your games to disk. You'll need more gear for this. You have to at least have an Ethernet cable, software for converting games to .ISO file, software for burning DVDs or CD-ROMs, and a mod chip in your XBox to play the copied games. Here's how you do it: First, connect your XBox to your computer with the Ethernet cable. With the Ethernet cable, you can FTP the files and back them up on your hard drive. You'll need to do this in order to copy them. Once you're hooked up, load the games onto your computer using FTP. The next step is to turn those games into .ISO files. To do this, you'll need some software like Qwix or ISO. Users have reported that both work pretty well, and you can download either one free on the web. They'll need to be in ISO format in order to be burned onto DVDs. Next, you'll need some kind of software for burning the files to DVD. Probably the most used software for burning XBox games is Nero's Burning Rom. It's easy to use and makes discs that are compatible with the XBox. Alcohol 120 is also pretty popular. If you want to use another software, just make sure that the discs it burns are XBox compatible. The specs should tell you this. The best discs to use are recordable DVDs like DVD-R, DVD-RW, or CD-RW's. Before you start burning a bunch of stuff, you should do a test run. Burn one and make sure it works on your XBox before you go totally crazy and burn a bunch. Now, just burn those .ISO files with Nero or Alcohol 120, and you're good to go. I can't stress it enough: Your XBox MUST have a mod chip. Mod chips are expensive and hard to install, but if you plan to play burned games, you need one. Also, keep in mind that a mod chip voids your warranty, and you can't do XBox Live with a mod chip.

Tips To Find Cheap Flights

If you are looking to get away but don't want to spend vast amounts of money, then follow our top tips on finding cheap flights & enjoy a life time of cheap travel. The Internet is by far the best place to research & book flights. You're also able to compare prices quickly from no-frills airlines, chartered & scheduled flights.

Some Tips & Advice on finding cheap flights
1/ Always shop around for the best deals & offers, be patient & don't get pressured into buying straight away. Remember, one company will never ever always have the lowest price on flights.
2/ Be as flexible as you can, fly mid-week rather than over the weekends which tend to be more expensive.
3/ As a rule, the earlier you book the cheaper the seat.
4/ Most travel agents do not search all the low-cost carriers & some will only search the traditional carriers.
5/ Flying from a nearby airport or secondary airport can sometimes save you money. Don't always insist on flying from the main international airports. Search fares for flying from different airports to get the cheapest price.
6/ Compare like for like, so take into account surcharges, taxes & fees for other options.
7/ On certain routes & during certain times of the year it can sometimes be cheaper to book a "flight + hotel" package than it is to book a flight-only.
8/ As a general rule fares for USA are usually cheaper Monday – Thursday, with flights to a European destination cheaper Tuesday – Thursday.

Other Considerations - Due to the increase in competition from no-frills airlines, the traditional carriers are now hitting back with competitive pricing. There are still some real bargains to be had with a traditional carrier. With a traditional carrier you'll get assigned seating & some sort of in-flight service. Another very important point is that if your flight is canceled, the traditional airlines will normally be able to get you onto another flight but if not, they will more often than not arrange accommodation. With the low-cost carriers you're on your own.
The traveling public now has more control over how & when they travel. It is especially important to take your time & become familiar with all the ways that you can find cheap flights. By following the above advice you should be able to make your money go that extra bit further & maybe visit places you could of only dreamt about.

Need for Speed: ProStreet Overview

Good-bye open tracks, the police, traffic and the night lights of big cities. Need for Speed ProStreet does not need them. One of the oldest series, one of the first to open the theme of neon glamour in racing arcades, is moving toward greater realism. And it's not only about the desire to do something new each year. "Subculture of street racing is gradually moving away from the stereotypes of the film "Afterburner", - explains John Doyle, the producer, and the authors want to reflect it in the game. Closed tracks without cops and traffic - these are the new rules. Clumsy attempts to compete with Grand Theft Auto with its open cities are gone. Do not expect commercials with beautiful top models against a backdrop of green screens from Need for Speed: Carbon and Most Wanted. However, the story itself is present in the ProStreet - players need motivation the EA Black Box studio believes. The realistic damage system, just the one the fans of Need for Speed dreamed of for several years, is the pride of the developers. Cavities on the cars, shattering glass - any clashes have implications, so only the most skilled and accurate racers will get to the finish. All the others' cars will fall apart or will lag behind until the finish. And repairing an automobile is an expensive pleasure. EA had to conclude agreements with automotive companies in order for the damage and the advanced tuning to have appeared in the game, which is not an easy task, because 26 brands are represented in the ProStreet. According to John Doyle, each company has permitted not only changing details, but also rolling over and completely destroying their automobiles. And the accidents will surely be present in the game - because there is no police, the "villains'" part will be taken by computer racers. More aggressive than before, the AI makes mistakes more often, sometimes creating a truly epic scrapyards. An already familiar to us Autosculpt tuning system has also been developed. In addition to external tuning, which ceased to be purely decorative (it affects the behaviour of a car), there is technical tuning. Virtual mechanics are free to choose any of the 30 options for the 90 parts; the player is able to test car parameters in an aerodynamic tube. Those who don't want to choose tyres and engine parts can limit themselves to simplified mode settings. Or, which would be even easier, can download a drawing of the tuning made by a friend and use it for his own car.
The game has four modes :
Grip (traditional circuit race),
Drift (has changed much due to the physical model),
Drag and Speed Challenges.
New Need for Speed ProStreet is approaching realism more seriously than the predecessor, so the designers have made electronic assistants for the game. By changing settings, the player can choose what he or she likes - a simulator or a classic arcade game.

Adsense Widget for Monetizing Your Blog

If you are interested in monetizing your blogging, adding AdSense to your blog is very important. Where you place your AdSense does impact the number of clicks you get.
Many people place their AdSense on the right column or at the top. This may lead to ad blindness which occurs when you look at the same format over and over again. They know those listings are advertisements and unconsciously filter them out.
A good way to overcome ad blindness is to put AdSense in unexpected places. So you might want to experiment with placing your ads between posts. This placement is in the natural flow of text which may lead to a greater amount of clicks on your ads.
Have you wanted to insert your Google AdSense between your blog posts without complicated coding instructions? You are in luck. Apparently, there is enough of you out there wanting to insert AdSense, that Google has now developed a new AdSense widget. You can add your AdSense between your blog post just the same way you add AdSense to other areas of your blog.
Google has a new post titled "Get In line" at their AdSense blog at adsense.blogspot.com. They show how to add AdSense. It is really easy to do like everything else on Blogger.

This is what you need to do:
1. Log into your Blogger account. 2. Go to your blogs template tab and click on "page elements" link. 3. Go to "blog posts" and click on "edit" located on the lower right corner. 4. Under "select items" check the "show ads between posts" box. 5. Under "configure inline ads" you can select how often you want your AdSense to appear. For example, you can them appear after every post or after every other post. 6. Next, you can customize your AdSense such as choosing format and colors. 7. Most important, save your changes.

Since Google now owns Blogger, Google is becoming responsive to input from Blogger's users. Hopefully, we may see more changes and improvements to Blogger as feedback to Google continues.

You need to follow Google's term of service for AdSense placement. You can be banned if you break the rules. You are allowed to have only three ad units per page. However, Blogger makes easy to follow the rules by allowing a maximum of three ad units in the blog post. So, you will not exceed the maximum limit if you add AdSense between blog posts. You just cannot go on to add AdSense anywhere else on your blog.

Malaysia Islands

Turtle Island, Sabah
Idyllic and gold sand beaches, clear blue waters, palm trees gently swaying to the rhythm of crashing waves?Visitors have always been enchanted by the unspoilt beauty and tranquillity of Malaysia islands. Many of them are famous worldwide; more than one Malaysian island has been called a tropical paradise, and aptly so.
They offer a host of water activities for those who like to get physical. For example Pulau Tioman (Pahang), Pulau Redang (Terengganu) and Pulau Rawa (Johor) are popular spots for scuba diving and snorkelling. Pulau Perhentian (Terengganu), which consists of two islands,Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil really have beautiful coral gardens within its waters.
Pulau Langkawi, which is famous for the Mahsuri legend, is also a duty-free shopping heaven. This paradise also offers several attractions besides its beaches. There Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells), Tasik Dayang Bunting (Lake Of the Pregnant Maiden), wildlife sanctuary Pulau Singa Besar and Pulau Payar Marine Park, to name a few.
There something for everyone at these islands. If you have lots of energy to burn, you can enjoy water sports like sailing, windsurfing, deep-sea fishing, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. And for those who are looking for a relaxing holiday, the beautiful beaches with their awe-inspiring golden sunset/sunrise will leave you with many memories to cherish.

A Basic Survival Kit

Pack these basic items: First Aid kit, whistle, compass, matches/lighter, mini torchlight/headlamp, pocket knife and light rain jacket/poncho in a dry sack/waterproof pack and keep the pack with you all the time, even on a short hike. (A 4-litre dry sack only costs about RM35). Most experienced trekkers swear by the handy parang (machete).
“Ideally, aside from the basic kit, you should carry a flysheet/poncho with tent/kernmental ropes (strong elastic rope made of sheathed nylon fibre), raffia string, extra food and water and enough dry, warm clothing to survive the elements,” says Azirin Aziz of Outward Bound Malaysia.
A tent in the form of a flysheet or poncho can double up as a raincoat and also as an emergency blanket to keep one safe from the risk of hypothermia. A tent rope may also be used as an ascending or descending line in the event of an emergency. Keep the candles and matches dry so you can start a fire, cook food, keep warm and send a smoke signal while you wait to be rescued, adds Azirin.

The Truth About A Home Based Business

Nowadays, a growing number of people are finding that they wish to get out of the rat race and leave behind the daily grind of a regular 9 to 5 job. So, many of them begin their own home based business.
However, a significant number jump into starting a home based business without doing sufficient research into what they really want to do and what it will take to make their home based business a success.
One vital point for people to understand is that even though they now have a home-based business, it is still a business and should be treated as such. Many are inclined to treat their home based business as a hobby and do not really give it the time, attention and energy it needs to grow and prosper.
All too often people fall into the trap of trying something for a short period and then jumping to something else. If you find something you like, stick to it.
A very common misconception that many people have on starting a home business, is that they will find they have a lot of free time. Often, the goals people aim for in their home-based business is that they are able to spend more time with their family and that there will be a better balance between work and life.
There can be a conflict in these goals especially when first beginning a home-based business. In the first few years, you may find that your home business is very time consuming, and you may find that you now have less free time than you did when you were working a regular 9 to 5 job. However, you cannot expect your business to grow and prosper if you do not spend a lot of time with it in the beginning.
You must realize that any home-based business you start is bound to have its ups and downs. You will realize that there are not loads of people beating your door down to acquire your products or services. In order to make your home business known to others, you are going to have to utilize some savvy marketing skills as well as effort.
If you look at the successful home business person, you will find that he or she has probably spent about 95% of the time in the promotion of their home-based business.
On the other hand, those who have been unsuccessful have probably spent less time promoting their business and more time doing busy work such as surfing the Internet, checking the stapler, checking e-mail several times a day, dusting the home office, going to the post office and many other little details. All of these are important, it is true, but this should not be the center of your focus in the beginning.
In conclusion, you know that you must treat your home-based business as a real business and not just as a hobby that you can devote attention to only when you feel like it. Developing a home-based business will take lots of time and energy in the beginning. In the end, it will all be worthwhile because you will pride yourself in having built a successful home business with incredible long term potential.

How To Create eBay Listings That Sell

If you want to sell anything successfully on eBay you need to know the ins and outs of writing a good listing that will get people buying from you. This is not that difficult once you know how. The same principles can also be applied to website sales copy, so we are killing two birds with one stone.
Firstly we want to establish our product as unique (or as unique as possible). Now could we do this with a DVD? Hardly. However with an African Mask for example though it would be relatively easy to stand out from the crowd.
Create a story to go along with your product. I find quite often when I'm buying from eBay, if it's from a personal seller and not from a store, and the item isn't new, I think "why are they selling it?" Make sure you answer that question.
Write a killer headline, five times as many people read the headline as the body copy. You have to grab their attention, avoid headlines which merely create curiosity, we want the visitor to read on. Don't talk about the features of your product in your headline, talk about it's benefits. You want to generate excitement in the reader. If you can, try and work out a way that your product could solve a problem that your reader might have. Remember, a good headline usually answers the question "what's in it for me?"
Describe your item in detail. Don't leave anything out. You should aim to answer every single question possible bidders may have about your product.
Create urgency in your listing. If people get the idea that they can come back and
bid a few days later the chances are they won't come back, and you will lose them. Give them a reason to take immediate action, once they have made a bid they won't want to lose the item. If it's a one off, or hard to come by product make sure you emphasize that fact. Rarity and/or urgency can get people bidding like crazy.
Detail your terms and conditions. This is important, leave these out of your listings and you are asking for trouble. You'll get disputes, returns, and misunderstandings aplenty. Don't think that people will automatically read your payment and shipping details. However if you have put them in there, together with any special conditions if you have any, you will save yourself a lot of hassle.
Do include a strong guarantee. You can say something like "If you aren't satisfied with your purchase you can have a full, no questions asked, refund". This will not only reassure your visitors that your product is of good quality and worth bidding for, but will also set you apart from the majority of your competitors, who do not offer such a guarantee.
Ask for the sale. It's common sense, but you'd be surprised how many people completely miss this one. You need to ask people to take action. Tell them to place a bid today to avoid missing out, or something similar. It's a simple thing to do, but miss this one out and you are losing potential bidders.
Writing a killer eBay listing is not difficult in itself, it can actually be an enjoyable task, especially when you think of the rewards. Most people will just shove up a product, price it, and trust to luck. By following the steps above you will be able to distinguish yourself from other listings and really stand out. Try it today
, and watch your profits soar.

Why You Might Be Confusing Your Customers?

According to Albert Einstein ‘everything should be made as simple as possible but not one bit simpler.'
If you think about the fact that each of your customers is being bombarded with 2 million bits of information per second you'll realize that they don't have time to work out what you are trying to say.
So the most important step in communication and marketing is figuring out what your key messages are.
Our capacity to deal with information depends on many factors and varies between people.
However, in the book Flow, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi estimated that the average human mind is able to handle about 126 bits of information every second.
He based this on an earlier research paper by psychologist George Miller called 'The Magical Number Seven'.
According to Miller, we can consciously handle between five and nine pieces of information at any one time (seven plus or minus two).
(The numbers are different because our minds work so fast that we can process several sets of 7 bits every second.)
The exact meaning of a ‘bit' varies depending on the circumstances but it could be something like numbers, colors or facts.
Clearly, it's much easier to remember a six digit telephone number than it is to remember a ten digit one, for example.
(In his paper, he also comments on the significance of the number seven throughout our society including the wonders of the world, ages of man, deadly sins, days of the week, colors of the rainbow and many more.)
As often happens with this type of scientific research, Miller's work has been widely misrepresented to prove a lot of different points.
Miller himself commented that there is nothing in his work that made it necessary for Moses to drop any of the 10 commandments!
However, it proves to be a relevant and valuable guideline in planning communication and marketing.
If you want to get a message across to someone, it's useful to consider that they will probably be unable to deal with more than seven bits of information.
Since they probably have in their mind a number of different things, your big challenge is to get them to pay attention to anything you want to say.
So you have to keep your message clear, simple and limited to a few key points.
If you want people to take action, it's probably best to focus them on one specific action which you want them to take rather than offer too many different options.
So, in any communication, it's important to be clear about what single action you want them to take or what one key point you want them to remember.
-If you are planning a presentation, can you limit it to around 5 - 7 key points?
-If you are sending out an email, what single action do you want people to take?
-Keeping your message simple will make it much more effective.
